Some of the things that a democracy can do is to provide basic services to its citizens, such as:

-health care, including health care during pregnancy and childbirth
-support for people with disabilities
-internal security (in the form of punishing crimes and rehabilitating criminals
-providing high-quality education
-infrastructure, such as roads.
